How to play GTA V in Low end laptop. Ultimate guide for low ends - Rules
Works with any other high performance required game....... (For minimum requirements)
My laptop is Lenovo ideapad 330 with intel core i3 8th gen, 4GB ram, 2GB AMD with Intel switchable Graphic chips and 1TB mechanical HDD, So here I will give some rules to play GTA V. Please remember this is not the ultimate lag free high quality game play it is the ultimate guide for low end laptops.
Rule #1 : Keep your laptop cool
Always remember to keep it cool from top to bottom, use powerful cooling pad. Also if you can, Set additional cooling fans on top of your laptop around HDD, motherboard area. Never block your internal fan exhaust area. Put additional fan to suck out the hot air from the exhaust.Rule #2 : Don't stress your PC
Even though your Graphic card can handle the game, your HDD and memory would not handle it well. Maybe the processor also. Put lower graphics, use windowed screen. Keep the resolution lowest as possible. Don't put smooth graphics, those are very hard to process.Rule #3 : Turn off the radio
Don't turn on your radio. on a bike or in a car turn the radio off by holding the key "Q" and navigate using the mouse. This will reduce the lag.Rule #4 : It isn't lag free
Your system is the minimum for the game. Don't expect lag free smooth performances. Be patient and handle the game delicately.Rule #5 : Look at the task manager if you need better info
You can look at the task manager and there will be lot of information. Most of the time your mechanical HDD is not enough it is using 100% and the RAM may use 100% of it's resources.Rule #6 : Give time to cool-down
You can't play 8-10 hours straight like a high end PC/Laptop owner. You have to be gentle with your system. 2-3 hours play and stop it, maybe your game is starting to lag more. That is a good sign to stop it for a while.Rule #7 : Upgrade your laptop if you can
By looking at the task manager, you have info to decide what upgrades you need.Below explained what you need to upgrade,
1) SSD
Your disk usage is high because your HDD can't handle the speed required. But disk is not only used by the game, it is also system files and your windows system. *Most usage of your RAM and HDD is by the system, not the game. ~Put your windows files only (or windows + most important software only). This will reduce the HDD usage and your game has the max ability to use it. Below, a guide to what data you need to place in your SSD according to the size.120 GB SSD - Windows files only*
240 GB SSD - Windows + Important software only
512 GB SSD - Windows + Software only
1 TB SSD - Windows + Software + Games
When buying your SSD, first check for port support. If the 'M.2' port is available in your laptop, use it. Else select the "SATA" port.
2) RAM
Your RAM is the next important thing. 8GB or 16GB is good for the system. Remember to check the RAM clock (Bus) speed (MHz). If you already have a 4GB RAM, check the clock speed of that and use the same speed RAM. Using higher speed 2nd RAM will not work because the speediest one will slow down to match the speed of slowest RAM.Use CPU-Z like tool to get the details you need.
